What you type into a calculator
Deck size, prices, waste, footing depth, and the other fields stay in the page. DeckBoardCalc does not have an account system, does not ask you to upload a plan, and does not send those numbers to a DeckBoardCalc database. There is no DeckBoardCalc database. Closing the tab clears the entries.
The site is a set of static files hosted on GitHub Pages at deckboardcalc.com. GitHub, as the host, may keep ordinary server logs (such as an IP address and the page requested) in order to serve and secure the site. DeckBoardCalc does not operate a separate analytics product and does not add a traffic-tracking script of its own.
Google AdSense and third-party ads
Some pages load Google AdSense so Google can check that this site belongs to the publisher account, and so ads can run where the layout allows them. Trust pages (this policy, the terms, about, and contact) are not given ad slots by the site. Calculator pages do not place an ad unit above the inputs.
Google, and other companies Google works with, may use cookies and similar storage to serve ads, to measure ads, and to show ads based on your visits to this site and to other sites on the internet. Those are third-party cookies. DeckBoardCalc does not read those cookies and does not receive a file of your ad profile.
Google describes how it uses data for advertising in its advertising policies and technologies (policies.google.com/technologies/ads). Google’s general privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. You can control ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Ads are labeled by Google when they appear. A click on an ad leaves deckboardcalc.com for the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy. DeckBoardCalc does not control that site and is not paid by you for the click.
What this site is not aimed at
DeckBoardCalc is written for adults planning a home project. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you write to joe@deckboardcalc.com, that message is ordinary email. The contact page uses the same address. The site does not add you to a mailing list, because it does not have one.
